Using Preread means agreeing to this. Preread is operated by Symphony Works LLC; questions to hello@preread.net.
What the service is
Preread reads a Google Calendar, and optionally the Gmail and Drive content behind each meeting, and writes a short preread for the meetings it recognises. It emails them to you, an hour before your first meeting of the day, and to nobody else.
Access
Preread is invitation-only. Signing in with Google creates an account and puts it on the waitlist; until it is approved the account can do nothing else. Approval is at our discretion, and so is declining or suspending an account that abuses the service. You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and you may not share your account.
Your content
What Preread reads from your Google account stays yours, and so does every preread written from it. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service for you, as described on the privacy page.
Prereads are written by machine and emailed to you, and what you do with them is yours to decide.
Prereads are written by a machine
A preread is written by a language model from the material it was given. It can be wrong, out of date, or missing the thing that mattered, which is why every version lists what it was written from. Do not treat a preread as legal, financial, medical or professional advice, and do not pass one on that you have not checked.
Fair use of it
Do not use Preread to break the law, to read an account you have no right to read, to harass or profile people, to resell the output as a data product, or to attack the service or work around its limits. Automated scraping of the app, and any attempt to get at another account's data, ends the account.
Availability, and the limits of what we promise
Preread is provided as it is, and for now at no charge. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, that a preread will arrive in time for a meeting, or that what it says is accurate. Google's APIs, and the models, are outside our control; when they fail, prereads fail with them.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost business or lost opportunity, or for anything that follows from what a preread said or from what you did with it. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Ending it
You can stop at any time: disconnect Google, and ask us to delete the account. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or stop offering the service, with notice.
Changes
If these terms change materially you will be told by email before the change takes effect, and continuing to use Preread after that is how you accept it. The date at the top is the date of the current version.
